Congratulations to Dwayne Schalles of Palmetto Masters. Upon turning fifty last year he decided to set the bar a little higher, as an open water aficionado at several chapters in his life he chose to use pool time, energy and camaraderie of a great USMS swim team to complete 50+miles of open water competitions in his fiftieth year on the planet Earth. Why did he do it? It was not only for his love of the water (or women with big shoulders) that drove him to compete but the fellowship, freedom and self determination to finish that puts life into a different perspective. Although one eye in the water and one out will always make for an interesting perspective.
